Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Architect to define and drive our technical vision across products and platforms. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, designing scalable architectures that enable business growth while managing technical complexity. You will provide technical leadership across engineering teams, establish architectural standards, and ensure technology decisions align with long-term business objectives.

Responsibilities

Define enterprise technical architecture and strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability requirements. Design end-to-end system architectures including application layers, data flows, integration patterns, and infrastructure. Establish architectural standards, principles, and governance frameworks to guide technology decisions across teams. Lead architecture review boards, evaluating designs and ensuring solutions meet quality and scalability standards. Drive technology selection and evaluation of build vs. buy decisions for new capabilities and platforms. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and architectural blueprints. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, promoting architectural best practices. Design integration strategies and API contracts to enable seamless connectivity across systems and partners. Assess and address technical debt, defining modernisation strategies and incremental improvement plans. Ensure non-functional requirements (performance, security, reliability, scalability) are addressed in architectural designs. Create comprehensive architectural documentation including diagrams, decision records, and technical specifications. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential value for the organisation.

Requirements

10+ years in software development with 5+ years in technical architecture or solution architecture roles. Proven experience designing enterprise-scale architectures across multiple technology domains. Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design patterns. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectural patterns. Extensive experience with integration patterns, API design (REST, GraphQL, gRPC), and messaging systems. Understanding of data architecture including data modelling, data warehousing, and real-time data processing. Strong knowledge of security architecture, authentication/authorisation patterns, and compliance frameworks. Experience with architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and modelling tools (ArchiMate, UML, C4). Track record of successful architecture transformation initiatives and technology modernisation programs. Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex technical concepts to executive audiences. Strong leadership abilities with experience influencing and guiding cross-functional technical teams. Professional architecture certifications (AWS/Azure Architect, TOGAF) are highly desirable.
Shape our technical future and architect solutions that drive innovation and competitive advantage.
