(SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)





Contract Type:

Permanent





Salary Package:

67,219

plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year





Hours:

9.00 am - 5.30 pm Monday - Friday

Role purpose:



Provide network architecture across SCC Digital's platforms and services and where required, customer environments.



Work closely with the sales function to support customer presales engagements and promote SCC networking products and services.




Key responsibilities:


Network architecture across all SCC Digital platforms and services, ensuring all designs adhere to SCC standards and follow the defined architecture governance process Lead on the network design for the development of new SCC Digital products and services in-line with strategic business objectives Help ensure all in-life platforms are fit-for-purpose, supportable and secure by evaluating existing architectures and supporting the network engineering function with planned maintenance and network improvements Provide networking expertise for customer presales engagements across the SCC Digital portfolio to help drive the sales of products and services Proactively work to identify operational efficiencies and cost-savings that can be realised through the network architecture; present recommendations to management with supporting justification and financial models Contribute to the development of the network automation strategy across SCC Digital Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the networking engineering functions Produce and maintain reference architectures with a view to increasing standardisation in the networking space across the organisation Support operations by providing 4th line technical support and root-cause analysis for complex networking issues

Skills and experience:



Significant network design experience across routing, switching and security, with a deep understanding of the interfaces with adjacent technology stacks and services Significant network implementation experience across Cisco Nexus, Catalyst and ISR/ASR platforms Expert level knowledge of Cisco and/or Fortigate firewalls, including additional security features such as IPS/Content Filtering/Anti-Malware/Anti-DoS Working knowledge of Cisco ACI Strong network documentation skills with proven experience of writing network HLD / LLD, supporting documents and network schematics Experience supporting presales activities with contribution to RFI/RFP response, BoM and SoW Experience of acting as technical lead on complex, large scale network deployments SD-WAN skills with Meraki and/or Fortigate products are advantageous, or a willingness to upskill in this area as required Network automation skills with tools such as Ansible and Terraform are advantageous, or a willingness to upskill in this area as required Public cloud networking skills are advantageous, or a willingness to upskill in this area as required Confident presenter to internal and external stakeholders Resilient and able to handle pressure and challenging situations Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, particularly with the operations functions, with the ability to build positive relationships
