Technical Assistant

Salary: circa 27,000

Hours: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)



Braehead Foods is looking for an enthusiastic Technical Assistant, centrally placed within the Technical team and working with various internal departments. The Technical Assistant will be responsible for providing timely and accurate support to the technical department.

What will I be doing?

Daily technical duties of maintaining product specifications, supplier data bases Liaising with suppliers with regards to obtaining accreditation certification Maintaining internal recipe management data base. Administering internal procedures and supporting compliance Manage supplier approval, questionnaires, maintenance, and conformance. Customer questionnaires and requirements for their supplier approval. Audits - internal role in presenting in audits of the site (customer audits, SALSA and BRC). General customer requests through email boxes. Role in traceability - Specifications and supplier approval documentation. Interpret laws relevant to technical to ensure compliance. Liaise with kitchen management to preform in-house training on allergen safety Support the technical team with additional project work and technical administrative tasks when required.

What experience do I need?

A science-based degree graduate or equivalent. Significant experience working in food technology. A robust understanding of Food Safety. HACCP experience. High level of attention to detail. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint Excellent organisation and communication skills Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
