Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Author to join our team. In this role, you will create clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation that supports our laboratory instruments and enhances user understanding.
Duties
Develop and produce user manuals, technical guides, installation instructions, and maintenance documentation for our laboratory instruments.
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to gather technical data and ensure accuracy of all documentation.
Use Visio or similar diagramming tools to create detailed illustrations and process flowcharts that complement written content.
Edit and proofread technical documents to maintain high standards of clarity, consistency, and professionalism.
Conduct research to stay current with product updates, industry standards, and best practices in technical writing.
Manage document versions and updates efficiently using word processing software such as Microsoft Word.
Ensure all documentation complies with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Proven experience in technical writing or authoring complex documentation within a technical or engineering environment.
Strong editing skills with an eye for detail; able to proofread meticulously to eliminate errors.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Solid research skills to gather accurate technical information from various sources.
Proficiency in Visio for creating diagrams, flowcharts, and visual aids that enhance understanding.
Competence in tools like Microsoft Word or similar software for document creation and management.
Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation or quality control processes is a plus but not essential..
