Job Description

Astute's Nuclear team is exclusively partnering with Sonovision, a leading provider of Technical Publications to global OEMs, to recruit a Technical Author for the Nuclear Sector.
The Technical Author role comes with a salary of up to 45,000, private medical insurance, life assurance and various other company benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Lead Technical Author you will:

  • Develop and maintain various technical documentation, including Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Assembly Procedures, Commissioning Procedures, and System Descriptions.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers, Technical Authors, CAD Technicians, Document Controllers, and site technicians to ensure accurate documentation for on-site project teams.
  • Support weekly reporting functions and attend progress meetings with stakeholders across the business.
  • Conduct receipt inspections and functional tests to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Contribute to project documentation for Plant Operation and Maintenance Instructions, supporting ongoing operational efficiency.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience within a Nuclear engineering environment.
  • Good understanding of engineering data in a variety of formats from Engineering drawings to Design Reports
  • Adequate competency using different software packages for planning/reporting purposes
  • Ability to track production of tasks from conception to completion
