What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

Working within a team of cross functional Software and Data Engineers you will be responsible for gathering requirements across our Business and Customers to help build our next generation of EPOS Software, specialising in Reporting, Insights and Analytics.

Taking business and customer needs into consideration, alongside the Product & Architecture Teams you will help define the roadmap for implementing our Data Lake, taking in streams from across our product suite and beyond. You will work closely with business stakeholders and partners to ensure we understand the customer problem and work with the development team to ensure the solutions we develop address those needs. You will support teams across the ecosystem in their data requirements and become a subject matter expert in the data landscape across Zonal\xe2\x80\x99s products.

As a Technical Business Analyst you will be able to analyse systems and business processes to help tease out the detail required to build a data rich platform to take our Customers into the future.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Understand the customer problem and scope of work to ensure we are delivering a high quality and functionally rich data platform to our customers. You will evaluate client requests, end user insights, industry drivers, and competitor capabilities to identify enhancements.
• Manage and own all data requirements
• Become a data expert across our existing products and build relationships with their teams and stakeholders.
• Support the development of the Data Lake, collaborating with relevant stakeholders and Data Engineers to ensure that business needs are met.
• Contribute to and implement the Data product strategy and related commercial business cases, helping to manage product roadmap priorities accordingly
• Undertake Business Analysis tasks to the required level of detail to support commercial business cases and the Software development teams.
• Following Lean and Agile principles you will work closely with the delivery team and across the business to define, document and split features and user stories.
• Evaluate regulatory changes to determine how they should be accommodated, with special emphasis on data governance, GDPR and PII handling.
• Collaborate with Marketing to effectively communicate value of product and overall solution.
• Working effectively with senior leaders and functional teams to ensure the success of their Product.
• In addition, you will be expected to carry out alternative or additional duties as the Company may reasonably require.

Skills & Experience

Must Have

• Collaborative with Excellent Communication Skills
• Value based decision maker
• Technical (Understanding of APIs, integrations and databases)
• Have hands-on experience in projects relating to data solutions (data delivery/management, data lake, system integration, data migration, data warehousing experience with cloud-based data platforms)
• Data Modelling (e.g. UML)
• SQL Server experience
• Background in Computer Science or have a related degree / qualification

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Agile Software delivery
• Understanding of User Experience
• Experience of Zonal Products or Understanding of the Hospitality Industry in general
• Event Based architecture
• Experience building/maintaining data dictionary/taxonomy
• Experience in a technical role with extensive exposure to data; data architect, data engineer, data analyst, software engineer/testing, DevOps engineer, data scientist, or similar relevant experience

• You may have knowledge of the hospitality industry, booking, table management or event management software.
• You will have worked in an environment with Software as a Service products and those in the cloud.
• You will have excellent project management skills with the ability to operate independently within prescribed guidelines.

• Excellent people skills with peers, seniors, subordinates and customers and comfortable negotiating through conflict
• Ability to multi-task, balancing the customer, product strategy and technical priorities required to deliver competitive product.
• You will have a hands on approach to the role with the ability to contribute to team projects whilst taking personal responsibility for their success.
