Your Activities:
Be responsible for the placing & expediting of purchase orders for job specific & stock requirements across WIKA Optical Sensing Ltd. Working with suppliers to ensure best pricing policies & quality while ensuring delivery requirements are met & maintained.
Support the company in the procurement of materials, while working with the Supply Chain Manager in the development of the supply chain for use in manufacturing.
Purchasing transactions from request for quotation (RFQ), to order placement and chasing of late orders, for both production purchasing demand and ad-hoc requests for projects.
Maintenance of purchasing data including adding and modifying suppliers, review of outstanding POs, change in expected delivery dates.
Engage with the technical and operational teams to provide the relevant information (e.g. technical drawings and specifications) to suppliers, and where relevant bring those teams into supplier discussions.
Adherence to the Company's policies and processes to enable the Company to meet its goals incorporated in its AS9100 quality systems, ATEX certification for relevant products, anti-bribery and anti-fraud policies. This includes meeting our customer supply chain requirements.
Build positive, long-term relationships with suppliers and making recommendations on new suppliers or a change in suppliers.
Co-ordinate with the finance and operation teams in regards to pro-forma invoices, invoices, supplier credits.
Compile monthly KPI data for Purchasing, including on time delivery and supplier approval.
Carry out any reasonable task that may from time to time, be requested by senior management in order to ensure the smooth running of all departments within the business.
Pro-actively work to resolve purchasing issues and understand when to bring in other departments in the business for assistance.
Your Profile:
Experience in technical purchasing, preferably in the Engineering or Technology sector, as a Technical Buyer / Technical Purchasing Specialist.
Focus on detail and willingness to proactively investigate issues.
Ability to build cross functional communication relationships.
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
IT literate (Microsoft Office products) and willingness to learn how to operate new systems.
Understanding and experience of the Supplier/Customer relationship (desirable)
Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9001 and AS9100D (desirable)
