About the Role
The Technical Controller is a member of the Maintenance team reporting to the Shift Service Delivery Managers. You will provide first line technical inputs to the Operational Control Centre (OCC) as the primary contact for the Subway Operations team for any technical issues that arise during operational hours and co-ordinate the technical response to avoid or reduce any impact from service affecting failures.
You will provide real time support to the Subway Operations team and ensure incident reports include all required technical details. You will be the first technical responder to alarms and diagnostic data outputs from the Subway Integrated System and initiate immediate action for priority alarms and co-ordinate appropriate technical responses for each event.
The Technical Controller will play a key role in the monitoring and analysis of system technical data from the SCADA system and support the continuous improvement of the Subway Integrated System's performance.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a maintenance environment, technical data analysis/use of SCADA and working on technical systems, including telecoms and control. Knowledge of engineering methodologies such as condition-based monitoring (CBM) and reliability centred maintenance (RCM) is desirable.
You will have experience of working in a safety critical or highly regulated environment and be aware of health and safety practices and requirements. Experience of a railway or public transport industry is desirable although not essential.
You will be a Time Served Technical Apprentice or Graduate or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. An HNC in an engineering/technical/data science subject is desirable, although not essential.
You will have the ability to work in an environment where a high level of concentration, vigilance and safety awareness is required. You must be able to interpret and explain technical information. You must be computer literate and able to adapt quickly to new technologies and software. Attention to detail and an aptitude to complete formal paperwork whilst recognising the importance of data quality and accurate reporting.
A highly motivated, professional, reliable and capable individual you will be a team player with the ability to plan work, operate in a changing environment and react effectively to changing demands. You will use your good communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our services are delivered in a professional manner and deliver positive change.

Full time hours will be 35 hours a week on a maximum 5/7 shift basis. You will be based in Broomloan Depot, Robert Street, Glasgow.
