Job summary
We currently have a Fixed Term Appointment opportunity for a Technical Delivery Manager to join our Digital Services team for 23 months. This role will suit someone who is confident taking accountability for the performance of a delivery team and ensuring outcomes are achieved.
At this level, you will build and maintain teams, making sure they are motivated, collaborating effectively, and focused on delivering digital services. You will identify and remove obstacles, keep delivery momentum, and prioritise what matters most.
You will work in line with Social Security Scotland's delivery strategy and project management principles, and closely with a range of internal technical teams, suppliers, and stakeholders. You will have responsibility for coordinating the delivery of digital products and services across key platforms, ensuring technology is used to deliver high-quality business services for clients and colleagues.
The complexity and scope of delivery will vary depending on the programme or service area, but in every case, you will play a central role in ensuring successful delivery across the Agency's portfolio of change.
A delivery manager is accountable for the performance of the team.

Job description
DDaT Pay Supplement
This post is part of the Scottish Government Digital, Data and Technology (DDAT) profession and as a member of the profession you will join the professional development system. This post currently attracts a 5,000 annual DDAT pay supplement, applicable after a 3 months competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are reviewed regularly and there is one currently underway. Changes will be communicated when the review is concluded.

Essential Experience
You have practitioner-level ability in communicating between technical and non-technical stakeholders, adeptly interpreting their needs, managing stakeholder expectations, handling both active and reactive communication, and supporting or hosting difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders.
You have practitioner-level ability in keeping delivery momentum, helping the team's delivery flow, and actively addressing internal and external risks, issues, and dependencies, even when ownership exists outside the team.
