The Role

We're looking for a skilled Technical Design Engineer to create comprehensive designs for heat pump systems, solar installations, MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery), and full M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) solutions. You'll work on diverse projects ranging from luxury residential properties to sophisticated commercial installations, ensuring our technical excellence matches our reputation for exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed technical designs for renewable energy systems including heat pumps, solar PV, MVHR, and complete M&E solutions Calculate heat loss/gain and conduct room-by-room analyses for precise system sizing Create comprehensive system schematics and specification documents Collaborate with sales consultants to develop accurate, tailored proposals Provide technical input during client consultations when required Work with our installation teams to ensure designs are practical and implementable Keep up-to-date with latest technologies, regulations, and best practices in renewable energy Support the optimisation of our design processes and technical standards

The Ideal Candidate

Proven experience in designing renewable energy systems, particularly heat pumps and solar PV Strong understanding of MVHR systems and broader M&E design principles Proficiency with relevant design software (AutoCAD, Revit, IES, EasyPV or similar) Knowledge of UK building regulations and renewable energy standards Experience with both residential and commercial projects Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues and clients Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar field (desirable) MCS or equivalent industry certifications (advantageous)
