The Role




As our in-house expert in technical and operational effectiveness, you will lead the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of our

Equipment, Facilities, Technology, Standards of Operation

, and

Project Engineering

. You will play a critical role in ensuring our operations achieve peak efficiency, reliability, and quality, converting client requirements into actionable technical solutions.


You will manage and inspire a high-performing team, develop and embed engineering excellence across the business, and spearhead transformative initiatives that increase our mean time between failures (MTBF) and reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ).

Key Responsibilities



Strategic & Operational Leadership



Partner with the COO to develop and implement world-class technical and engineering strategies. Lead cross-functional collaboration across Production, Sales, Procurement, Finance, and HR. Drive benchmark operational performance, quality, and safety across all technical functions.

Engineering & Technology Oversight



Lead the Maintenance and Production Engineering teams. Oversee equipment standards, continuous improvement, and reliability initiatives. Champion the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance operational performance. Be the technical authority across all engineering disciplines.

Team Development & Culture



Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing, innovative technical team. Embed a culture of safety, leadership, and continuous improvement.

Financial & Quality Accountability



Manage departmental budgets, improve cost efficiency, and deliver on financial targets. Collaborate closely with QHSE leadership to maintain and exceed quality standards.

What You'll Bring



Essential



Degree-level qualification (or higher) in a relevant Manufacturing Engineering discipline. Strong leadership experience in project-led, made-to-order production environments. In-depth experience with welding, fabrication, and machining. A track record of talent development and innovation in technical execution. Excellent communication skills, especially when translating technical detail for diverse audiences.

Desirable



Offshore wind or renewable energy sector experience. Membership/Fellowship of a recognised professional institution. Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, 5 Whys, APQP4Wind). Strong financial acumen and contract management experience.
