Job Description


Culina Group Limited, through its subsidiaries, provides logistics, warehousing, distribution, and other services for the food and drink industry in United Kingdom and Ireland. It provides chilled, ambient, contract packaging, and bonded logistics services, as well as value-added services, such as online visibility and systems integration, pallet management, and supply chain management.



Culina Group IT is responsible for ensuring the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company\'s IT infrastructure. Service, Operations and Infrastructure is organised in Services, Infrastructure and Operations functional areas. The Technical Domain Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the company\'s IT infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation and performance of all IT systems and services. They are the key technical authority in the organisation, providing strategic guidance, technical expertise, and ensuring the implementation of best practices in IT infrastructure management.

The Technical Domain Lead (Security) will also actively participate in IT projects and collaborate with the outsourcing vendor to draft statements of work, ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives and effective management of vendor relationships.

Key Duties of a Technical Domain Lead Security:

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute the IT infrastructure strategy in alignment with the organisation\'s overall objectives and technological advancements and under direction of Group IT\'s Strategy and Architecture function.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to identify infrastructure needs, evaluate potential solutions, and provide recommendations.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, assess their applicability, and propose innovative solutions for infrastructure enhancement.
Vendor and Outsourcing Management
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure the effective delivery of outsourced IT operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct regular vendor meetings, address issues or concerns, and identify opportunities for service improvement or cost optimization.
Infrastructure Management (As subject matter expert - SME)
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and support of all IT infrastructure services.
  • Working with 3rd parties and outsourcers, ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure services to meet business requirements and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Review infrastructure health, identify bottlenecks or vulnerabilities, and proactively address any issues to minimise downtime and disruptions.
  • Working with other teams (InfoSec), define and ensure enforcement of security protocols, including access controls, data protection.
  • Ensure, where required, that infrastructure services have appropriate disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Collaboration
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as software development, security, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions and support.
  • Documentation and Reporting (As subject matter expert - SME)
  • Ensure that accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures are created and maintained.
  • Generate regular reports on infrastructure performance, uptime, and key metrics for management and stakeholders.
  • Analyse data, identify trends, and propose recommendations for infrastructure optimisation and improvement.
  • Provide input and advice to architecture function for road mapping of infrastructure components and services
  • Compliance with all company health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Compliance of WEE directive for disposals of IT equipment
  • Attend internal and external meetings as a representative of the IT department
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in IT infrastructure services management, including hands-on experience with server administration, networking, storage, virtualisation, digital workplace and security. As well as SaaS, data centre and cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard infrastructure frameworks, such as ITIL, and experience implementing best practices.
  • Proven experience managing outsourced IT operations and working with external vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented mind-set.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience participating in IT projects and drafting statements of work (SOW) with outsourcing vendors.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
