Location: Prudhoe Head Office, Contract Sites and Quarries

Salary: 55,000 per annum + Company car
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Thompsons Group is seeking a Technical Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of earthworks projects across the business. This role is equally split between office and site-based work, offering a dynamic balance of strategic planning and hands-on technical oversight.

You will support the Contracts Management team with ground modelling, volume calculations and engineering analysis. Your input will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

In the office:

Coordinate engineering input across contracts

Review technical documentation and identify risks and opportunities

Prepare ground models and volume calculations

Support pricing, tenders and cost submissions

Allocate engineering resources and contribute to RAMS documentation

On-site:

Supervise technical aspects of earthworks operations

Liaise with clients, subcontractors and site team

Ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards

Monitor progress and report emerging issues
