The Role





A Technical Fibre Infrastructure Manager (Long-Haul & Metro), plays a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects of euNetworks Fibre optic networks. You will be specifically working on the roll out of European wide, cutting-edge fibre technology, taking the will lead the of our fibre optic infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of high-performance, reliable, and scalable connectivity across our network. This role requires strong technical expertise in fibre systems, excellent project management and communication skills, and the ability to provide on time updates to multidisciplinary teams and contractors supporting complex build and upgrade programmes.



What will you be doing?





Implementation & Delivery


Managing a small team of fibre characterisation and installation engineers overseeing the fibre deployment requirements of the business, ensuring fibre specifications are consistent across our Metro, Long-Haul and third-party off net network builds.

Technical Expertise:


Lead a team on Fibre optic specifications from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, working with internal / external partners to deliver fibre optic networks. Optical Fibre test results analysis for acceptance on long-haul & Metro networks (OTDR, OLTS, FIP, CD, PMD). Provide technical guidance to the team, troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring the implementation of best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction and operations, to ensure seamless project execution. Support accurate fibre / cable records and updates Stay abreast of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) optical fibre network Design, Planning and Engineering for new and existing regions, industry trends, advancements and emerging technologies in Fibre optic communications (OST, ODF, FEC & OCEF) designs and optimisations.

Network Optimisation:


Monitor and analyse the performance of existing Fibre optic networks, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation. Implement measures to enhance network efficiency, capacity and reliability.

Quality Assurance:


Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity and performance of the Fibre optic infrastructure. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Vendor Engagement:


Evaluate and support vendor selections for Fibre optic equipment and services. Collaborate with internal Vendor teams to stay informed about new products and technologies that could benefit the organisation.

Customer Engagement:


Drive customer engagement with key/hyperscale accounts during the pre-sales cycle to capture critical insights into their unique challenges and technical requirements.


What do we want from you?




Technical expertise in fibre optic infrastructure and architecture, Long-Haul and Metro. The ability to work to project timelines and SLAs, effectively managing your time and meeting deadlines. Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective operation of Fibre Optic networks. Experience working closely with other stakeholders including but not limited to Software Engineering, GIS, Project Management and Network Deployment. Experienced working in GIS platforms, Kmz etc - be able to identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities and select routing required for work projects. Experience leading fibre optic teams and projects. Strong leadership, team-building and coaching skills are preferred but people with the right attitude and commitment to developing into a leadership role will be considered.
