Contract location is Kendal but this role will be to work from Parkhouse, Carlisle. This will be as a work base not a contractual location

A vacancy has arisen for the role of Technical Finance Officer to join the team that administers the Cumbria Local Government Pension Fund.

Shortlisted for Small Pensions Team of the Year at the 2025 LGC Investment Awards, Cumbria Pension Fund is a dynamic team to work within, offering ongoing support and professional development with excellent career progression opportunities.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in ensuring the Fund's 3.4billion of assets are invested in compliance with the Fund's investment strategy including monitoring the performance of these investments, tax, governance, and other accounting issues.

The post holder will also support the general management of the Fund including ensuring training opportunities are available for Officers and elected Members to ensure that appropriate decisions are made with appropriate knowledge and understanding.

Who we are looking for...





We are looking for someone who has:
A relevant accounting or investment qualification or has significant experience in either of these sectors Knowledge of pensions standards and current practices. Significant experience of providing accounting administration services. Experience of introducing best practice and innovation with services.

The individual will have:
Accurate numeracy, analytical and comprehension skills. High quality communication skills; written, report writing and presentational. Capacity to work effectively under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines. Good interpersonal skills.
