Location: Nationwide (UK) - Regular travel and overnight stays required up to 3 nights per week away
Salary: 30,000 plus (dependent on experience and skills)

Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and practical individual to join our team as a Technical Insulation Surveyor. This is a hands-on role that combines technical surveying with practical work to prepare properties for insulation installation. You'll receive training and support from our Surveying and Operations departments. You will also work closely with our Technical Administrator to confirm that proposed draft plans they have produced are feasible, agree on any unforeseen alterations, and ensure customers are fully informed of any changes to the planned work.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct technical surveys at customer properties for various insulation measures:
Cavity wall insulation
Loft insulation
Internal wall insulation
Room-in-roof insulation
Extractor fans, trickle vents, combustion vents
Insulated flat roof systems
Agreeing remedial works required to make property suitable for our work
Accurately measure, photograph, and where needed produce drawings/plans to guide installation teams clearly
Use electronic apps to record survey data and customer agreements
Communicate clearly with customers about planned works and any required preparation
May be required to carry out enabling tasks such as:
- Cutting loft access panels and making good
- Drilling inspection holes for cavity checks
- Installing trickle vents and core holes
- Cutting floor access hatches
- Exposing damp proof course behind render
- General remedial tasks
Attend complex installs to support both the customer and installation team
Support the creation of materials and equipment lists for each job
Highlight where third-party contractors are required for the proposed work (e.g. scaffolders, skip hire, plasterers)
Occasionally assist installation teams with practical tasks
Support planning team with scheduling and coordination
Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations
Provide regular updates to the office for customer scheduling
Perform daily vehicle inspections and housekeeping tasks
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 3 years' experience in a manual/skilled trade (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, bricklaying, general building)
Confident using a wide range of hand and power tools
Comfortable using computers and learning new software
Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
Strong customer-facing communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
Positive, solution-focused attitude
Competent with tablets/mobile devices
Full UK driving license (max 6 points, no previous bans)
DBS check required for successful candidate
Desirable (but not essential):
- Construction-related qualifications and experience installing insulation products
