About the Role




As we begin this new chapter, we are expanding our in-house capabilities in MOCVD and building a dedicated team to bring our vision to life. This role offers the opportunity to work in a small, highly skilled team, driving the development of state-of-the-art technology platforms. You will have the opportunity to make a big impact.

Key Responsibilities



Build state of the art Technology Platforms for the design and production of high efficiency MicroLED products Technical lead on the epitaxial growth of III-V semiconductor materials gallium nitride (GaN) or gallium phosphide (GaP) Support strategic IP development and contribute to technical publications/patents Oversee the analysis, development, and testing of new processes, including characterisation, process control, and quality assurance Collaborate closely with engineering teams including Process Engineering, Equipment Owners, Characterisation & Test, and Shift Engineers in order to deliver successful outcomes Ensure compliance with all operational standards, including health & safety, environmental, and FAB procedures. Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, improvement, and efficiency Maintain high-quality standards while developing in a production environment Mentor and develop engineers, building expertise and fostering growth across the team Drive continuous improvement in epitaxial yield, throughput, and cost efficiency Support new material development and exploratory R&D projects

Experience & Attributes



Ph.D or Master's with extensive experience in Materials Science, Physics, or related field 5-10+ years of hands-on MOCVD epitaxy experience Technical expert within gallium nitride (GaN) or gallium phosphide (GaP) Hands-on experience with MOCVD systems (Veeco, AIXTRON, etc.) Experience in scaling processes to production and leading technical teams A proven track record of bringing new technologies to fruition A very good understanding of the engineering challenges relating to the development and manufacture of LEDs Knowledge of the technology landscape and competition Familiar with gated product development processes Familiar with Failure Analysis, Defect classification and quality tools Creative thinking to optimize processes under complex constraints Ability to stay motivated through setbacks or inconclusive results

Experience within Photonics Experience with MicroLED Knowledge of optical, thermal and/or electrical simulation Experience of analogue and power technology Knowledge of device processing
