Job Description

This Lead Technician works as part of a team to manage the assembly of a variety of Pyroban EX components such as starter motors, alternators, lights, and battery enclosures. Working closely with colleagues across all departments, you will ensure that the department delivers components and modifications on time to agreed plans.

As Lead Technician, managing a Team of 4, you will be an integral part of operational planning to ensure defined production and manufacturing procedures are followed, ensuring high levels of quality and health and safety, use 5S principles,

On a daily basis you will hold toolbox talks to identify issues, read and interpret work instructions, to achieve build specifications, as well as completing production documentation, such as sketches, photographs and instructions to be used as future reference.

There will be some need for development of new procedures at times, as well as investigations of quality issues, non conformance and customer complaints, where you will liaise with other departments to resolve these.

Using your experience of monitoring and managing planned versus actual hours, you will feed back to the CA Planner to ensure regular updating of planned work within the MRP system.

You will be able to initiate, encourage and lead continuous improvement activities, maintain skills matrix to ensure continuity of work, enable effective communication between management and team members, and propose training schemes to enhance the team's skill set.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Knowledge



Proven experience of leading a team.

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engine components, and electrical wiring.

Ability to read and understand engineering/technical drawings and processes.

Ability to complete required documentation and records in a timely manner.

Proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude.

Strong team ethic.

Good communication skills.

Basic IT skills.

Desire to develop team leadership skills.

Willingness to adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures and processes.

Willingness to learn additional skills.

Willingness to work overtime when required.

Desirable



Apprenticeship, City & Guilds or equivalent.

Awareness of quality assurance throughout the whole process.

Ability to problem solve.

Previous experience of leading and motivating a team.

Ability to delegate effectively.

Experience as a mechanical/electrical technician.
