Job Description

M.J.Allen Automotive Ltd, a leader in aftermarket clutch and brake components are looking for a new Technical Manager Assistant Apprentice to join their friendly team.

Role Purpose



To support the technical and product management teams in the development, testing, and support of automotive aftermarket components, while undertaking a structured apprenticeship program. This role is designed to develop future technical leaders by combining hands-on experience with formal education in engineering and product lifecycle management.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements



Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 9-4 (A-C), including:
Mathematics English Language Science (Physics preferred) A-Level or Level 3 qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical subject (preferred) Eligibility to enroll in the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship (Manufacturing Technician)

Essential Knowledge & Interests



Strong interest in automotive systems, particularly aftermarket components such as braking, clutch, suspension parts Basic understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and automotive technologies Awareness of the automotive aftermarket industry and its role in vehicle maintenance and repair Eagerness to learn about product development, quality assurance, and technical support

Technical Aptitude



- Interest in mechanical systems and automotive components
- Ability to understand and interpret basic technical drawings and specifications
- Willingness to learn CAD, testing, and diagnostic tools

Analytical Thinking



- Logical and methodical approach to problem-solving
- Ability to follow structured testing and reporting procedures

Communication



- Clear and confident verbal and written communication
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and commercial teams

IT Literacy



- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to learn technical software and digital tools

Organization & Time Management



- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to tasks

Hours:- 8:15 to 16:00 Monday to Friday, one day a week at college.
