Who are we?

Minerva Brands are a cosmetics and personal care manufacturer based in Burnley. We manufacture a wide range of cosmetics products from simple shower gels to complex skincare for brands in the UK and overseas. We're growing, and are looking for people to join us in our journey.

From our site in Burnley, we make tens of thousands of skincare, haircare, personal care, face care and more for brands in the likes of Harvey Nichols, Superdrug, Boots, John Lewis and more. We also operate a second site where we run 3PL and fulfilment services for brands too.

Job Overview

We're looking for an experienced Technical Manager within Cosmetics and Personal Care manufacturing. You're role is pivotal in our smooth operation, in ensuring we remain compliant, help customers and other team members with formulations, lab to bulk scale manufacturing support and creating new formulations.

Duties

Quality Assurance

: Maintain quality ensuring GMP compliance, review and creating batch records

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure our products, raw materials and methods of manufacture meet legal requirements for the UK and other markets. Create PIF files for new formulations and help customers maintain their PIF files for their formulations.

Technical Support & Problem Solving:

Provide guidance to production team, investigate quality deviations and act as key technical contact with internal and external stakeholders

Cross Functional Collaboration:

Work with Commercial and Operations teams to ensure project success.

Stability & Testing:

Oversee product stability, compatibility and raw material evaluation

Supplier Relations:

Seek out and engage suppliers for raw material samples, and work with purchasing team to make sure correct grades are being used and keeping us compliant.

Lab Management:

Manage the lab, including NPD samples, QC sign off, and any lab team members

Qualifications

A degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other related science. MSc would be advantageous but not essential. Proven background in cosmetics and personal care technical roles, GMP/ISO knowledge. Formulation experience in a range of products from gels, creams, balms, fragrances, liquids, powders etc. Strong analytical, problem solving, project management and communication skills. Confident speaking to customers and suppliers alike on the phone, video call and face to face. Use of ERP System to track samples, NPD projects, stock etc. Knowledge of Odoo would be advantageous but not essential Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail, enabling effective management of multiple priorities.
