We are supporting various customers worldwide in automotive systems development. We are recruiting an experienced automotive engineering technical leader to work with our OEM customer on their site as an Instrument Panel & Centre Console Technical Manager. The role involves owning the project management and delivery of new cockpit systems - interfacing with all departments at the customer's Product Development site e.g. design, manufacturing, purchasing and managing build to print suppliers, assuring the quality and feasibility of parts/assemblies. In this role the on-site technical manager will also inform and integrate the work of a remote Bertrandt solution development team.



Your responsibilities


Lead the development & delivery of Instrument Panel & Centre Console design solutions for new vehicle models Manage communication between Bertrandt teams and customer departments during design development, release, prototype & manufacturing ramp up phases In the context of the customers Product Development process, plan and lead the engineering project, manage status reporting and be the Bertrandt representative in customer led meetings Maintain status for functional, weight, cost, craftmanship and quality targets using customer templates Liaise with stakeholders and suppliers to minimize complexity and tooling investment and protect carry over content assumptions Collaborate with customer departments & suppliers to achieve surface, package and manufacturing feasibility Interpret/communicate CAE feedback on attribute performance & guide requirements for additional analyses Report and interpret results of tolerance analyses and provide input to craftmanship Gap and Rad Plan Ensure timely delivery of all project elements, e.g. DFMEA and identification of SC & CCs Coordinate bid specifications for bought-out components/ assemblies Maintain product development process look ahead and deliverables planning Prioritise timely & accurate delivery of data to support product development project milestones Support engineering release and change management processes as well as resolution of pre-production build issues Interact with project team members in the UK, Germany and other locations as required Support vehicle launch on site as required

Proven experience in managing the delivery of new cockpit systems Proven ability to self-mange workload and maintain a workplan to ensure project deliverables are met Proven ability to comprehend all technical content through previous work developing IP design solutions on multiple vehicle development programmes Well-developed ability to communicate effectively with activists at all levels within Bertrandt and the customer's organisation Ability to be an independent and proactive actor in the interests of the project Experience in leading effective meetings (reviews, status report-outs and for issue resolution) Used to being flexible to the demands of the working environment Experience in KVS, LCA, MMC, Aeko, iQapture & KPM an advantage
Successful candidates need to be eligible to work in the UK, hold a UK driver's license and be able to travel to Europe and internationally.
