Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership in Manufacturing

Oversee all technical aspects of the manufacturing process; champion industry best practices and compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving and process development. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimise cost, quality, and productivity across all manufacturing operations. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, to deliver seamless manufacturing outcomes and fulfil production targets. Manage technical projects from conception through to execution, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded. Monitor and analyse production data, identifying trends, solving technical challenges, and implementing sustainable solutions. Act as the technical point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners, representing manufacturing interests with professionalism and expertise.

Skills & Experience Needed for Manufacturing Technical Management Success

Significant experience within a technical or engineering management role, ideally within fast-moving consumer goods, electronics, or similar high-volume manufacturing environments. Proven track record of driving technical improvements by implementing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire, develop and empower colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and project management abilities. Sound understanding of manufacturing technology, automation, and quality control systems. Excellent communication skills, able to build effective relationships at all levels across the business. Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering or manufacturing disciplines.
