The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Manager, supporting operations in the wind energy sector. The successful candidate will be ensure professional Technical and project management and thereby create added value for the company in the form of a reasonable financial return. The result must be achieved, among other things, through collaboration and good project planning as well as a focus on costs and efficiency.
This role demands excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills, and a deep understanding of the wind industry. Experience in handling technical issues encountered in the inspection services to onshore and offshore wind turbine generators and a LEEA foundation certificate is a minimum requirement. The ideal candidate is UK-based and open to travel as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise
Proficient in handling of technical issues encountered in the inspection services to onshore and offshore wind turbine generators.
Has worked in a technical environment for minimum of 5 years.
Has a minimum of LEEA foundation course.
Has more than 5 years' experience in the Renewables energy sector.
Technical/Project Management
Lead the end-to-end management of inspection service projects for onshore and offshore wind turbine generators, ensuring all activities are delivered to agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Take full responsibility for the technical and financial delivery of projects, including planning, resource coordination, and performance monitoring, while aligning with company goals and client expectations.
Ensure strict compliance with ISO17020 requirements, maintaining impartiality and quality standards throughout all stages of project execution, and supporting audits in collaboration with HSEQ and department leads.
Oversee project contracts and frame agreements, ensuring all terms related to scope, time, and quality are fully met, and that all necessary contractual notifications and records are maintained accurately.
Identify and manage project risks by maintaining an up-to-date risk register, developing mitigation plans, and escalating issues promptly to senior management when necessary.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistent and clear communication across all parties and delivering accurate updates in the correct formats.
Create a structured and motivating working environment, delegating tasks effectively to project assistants, site managers, and technical staff while promoting collaboration, accountability, and job satisfaction.
Support the commercial team with the preparation of competitive bids and tenders, ensuring that offers are calculated accurately, approved appropriately, and aligned with company guidelines.
Prepare and manage detailed project execution plans that include all projected costs, profit margins, and resource needs, while tracking actual versus budgeted performance throughout project lifecycles.
Ensure all project documentation, including communication records, invoicing, complaints, stakeholder matrices, and post-project reviews, are completed and stored in line with internal procedures.
Deliver clear, timely project reporting to the administration team, covering key metrics such as inventory levels, project costs, and any other activities with financial impact.
