Technical Manager
Location: West Midlands
We're looking for an experienced Technical Manager to take ownership of all upfront engineering design activities, helping to shape the successful delivery of our new developments from the ground up. Deep technical and planning knowledge is essential for this role.
In this key position, you'll manage the design and approval process for roads, drainage, levels, and utilities -- working closely with consultants, local authorities, and internal teams to ensure designs are efficient, compliant, and cost-effective. You'll play a vital part in turning early feasibility studies into fully engineered solutions that are commercially viable and buildable.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating civil engineering consultants, reviewing drawings and reports, managing Section 38, 104, and 278 agreements, and securing technical approvals. You'll collaborate with land, planning, commercial, and construction teams to ensure engineering designs align with layouts, budgets, and programme requirements.
We're looking for someone with a strong background in residential development and civil engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects through to approval. Proficiency in reviewing AutoCAD or Civil 3D outputs, understanding of SuDS design, and experience working with adoptable infrastructure will be key to your success.
