WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

A Technical Manager with experience in residential new build developments from small-scale to large-scale housebuilder sites.

You will be key in ensuring the A2 architectural output is compliant with the current construction methods, building regulations and NHBC standards. Strong on-site experience and project management of minor-scale residential developments is key.

This role offers a high level of autonomy and visibility within the business and is ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, problem-solving, and driving project success.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

An experienced Technical Manager with a track record of delivering high-quality residential schemes. In-depth understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work, especially stages 4-6, with a clear ability to manage information flow, specifications, and coordination. Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and manage consultants, contractors, and clients. Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing, with an ability to review, critique, and guide technical outputs from the team. Confident in managing workload and priorities under pressure, while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; Revit proficiency is desirable. Familiarity with NBS Specification. This role requires previous experience in a similar capacity within a developer or architecture setting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and manage the technical delivery of multiple projects at varying stages, ensuring documentation is compliant, coordinated, and issued on time. Provide leadership and technical oversight across design and construction phases, including resolving on-site challenges. Review and sign off detailed working drawings, specifications, and tender packages. Coordinate design input from internal team members and external consultants. Act as a key liaison with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful delivery and sign-off. Drive technical innovation and quality standards within the practice. Support Directors in resource planning and strategic project reviews.

SUMMARY DETAILS:

Ideally 8+ years of experience in technical delivery Membership of CIAT or ARB is preferable but not essential Strong technical knowledge of residential architecture, including large-scale developments Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality Strong leadership, time management, and project coordination skills Excellent communicator, both written and verbal Fluent in AutoCAD Software and Microsoft Office; other software desirable Based in the UK, and can commute to Fareham Fluent in English
