About us
The School of Architecture and Environment, The School of Engineering at UWE Bristol, has an opportunity for a School Technical Manager to lead and support our dedicated community of technicians. Technicians play a vital role in the University, and this position will guide the technical team in aligning with the School's strategic objectives while ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the school's senior team, contributing to strategic decision-making, ensuring the schools roadmap objectives are met to deliver high quality education at UWE Bristol. The role will be based at Frenchay.
About you
You should have proven experience in management and technical teaching environments--including digital and online learning. You will have a strong track record in delivering strategic objectives, overseeing operational duties, and leading health and safety in critical areas.
You should also have experience in:

  • Human resource management
  • Financial planning and oversight
  • Project and resource management
  • Timetabling and curriculum coordination
  • Teaching and learning design
  • Estates liaison
In addition, you will be highly proficient in digital administrative tools and open to adopting other platforms used within the schools. As a member of the school leadership team, you'll be expected to embody and promote values of collaboration, respect, inclusion, dynamism, and creativity. You should have broad technical expertise and exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively support and empower our staff.
