Overview
As we continue to expand, we are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the technical team as a Technical Manager. Reporting into the Head of Technical & Compliance you will be helping to lead the company's technical agenda specifically working on concept to launch projects and be a first point of technical contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
You will be expected to work within the legal and technical standards to ensure the company adheres to BRC/MSC/ASC and Customer standards.
This is a fast-paced role where attention to detail is critical. The role is predominantly office based but travel in both the UK and Worldwide to suppliers and customers will be required from time to time.
One / Two days a fortnight working from the Hessle Office will be expected.
As a small team flexibility within the role is also crucial with the potential to get involved in other projects within the company as the job develops.
Experience is essential and a desire to work with fish and seafood is a must to get the most out of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Run New Product Development projects alongside the Sales Team as agreed by the Head of Technical or MD
Work closely with the Head of Technical and Compliance so you can deputise in their absence.
Maintain a robust and validated HACCP System
Manage Technical Audits and Visits
Keep up to date with all Customer Procedures, Policies and Information provided in technical portals and ensure that Maris procedures are following these requirements.
When required, ensure that all product repacks meet Maris food safety and quality standards.
Travel to Suppliers, Customers or third-party storage areas if a products quality requires investigation. This can include travel outside the UK. This can include short notice travel.
Run Technical Projects that help to improve the current systems
Supporting the Quality Manager and Quality Controller in their work where appropriate
Help establish areas such as Supplier Ethical Standards to meet customer needs

Hours:
8am to 4pm with 30 minutes lunch
Hybrid working - 4 days office Based (WA1 1RL), 1 day working from home. (Following 90 day probation)
1-2 days a fortnight working from the Office in Hessle
28 days holiday
MUST have a driving license as some travel is required.
