Andros UK Limited is a major supplier of ambient fruit-based and chilled yogurts and desserts, with our commercial operations based in Hammersmith dealing directly with all major retailers and sectors within the UK. In 2008, we acquired the Oldford dairy site (180 people) and heavily invested in new, state-of-the-art, chilled desserts product lines, unique on the market.

The company has experienced rapid growth, doubling the size of the business in the last 4 years.

This growth has been driven across both the preserves and desserts categories through the success of the Bonne Maman brand as well as an extensive private label activity. The products are either imported or produced in the dedicated chilled dessert facility in the South West of England.

To support this growth we are now seeking a dedicated Technical Officer to join our team.

Main tasks and responsibilities:



Carrying out and managing audits including GMP, Hygiene, Glass & Plastic, CCP Providing annual CCP training to operation team Calibration of measurement equipment in factory and laboratory to the agreed schedule Be involved with the site operations for any quality related matters (including but not limited to weight control, foreign body issues including metal finds, coding, returns, storage). Support the Quality Assistant Manager with monitoring and investigating customer complaints. Traceability exercise. Document management of technical procedures and policies. Ensuring that intermediate products conform to the standards Carrying out hygiene inspections. Responsible for taste panel, positive release process and monitoring product quality via sensory panels. Training out work instructions, one point lessons, briefs, Conduct thorough inspections of incoming raw materials to ensure they meet defined specifications, labelling requirements. Raise supplier nonconformance/rejection notifications and follow up to ensure investigations are carried out within requested timeframes. Prepare the quality key performance indicators for communication with production team Assist at trials and new product launches to ensure technical requirements are met

Knowledge, Skills & Experience



Degree educated or equivalent in Food Technology HACCP level 2, internal auditor qualifications Ideally, knowledge of customer codes or practice and BRC requirements Experience of working in a QA or QC function of a food factory Good communication skills
