Position Overview:



The Technical Officer will play a pivotal role in the development, formulation, and production of nutraceutical capsules and tablets. This position involves building and optimising product formulations, approving specifications, managing supplier relationships, and fostering strong customer relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in nutraceutical or pharmaceutical product development, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality health products.

Key Responsibilities:



Formulation Development:

Develop and optimise formulations for capsules and tablets, ensuring product efficacy, functionality, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Specification Approval:

Review and maintain technical documentation for raw material specifications sourced from various suppliers.

Supplier Management

: Maintain relationships with raw material suppliers, ensuring consistent quality, and work with procurement to source raw materials that meet formulation and regulatory requirements.

Customer Relations:

Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support on formulations, product features, and regulatory compliance, and ensure product specifications meet expectations.

Quality Assurance:

Work closely with the quality control team to ensure products meet industry standards, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and relevant regulatory requirements.

Documentation:

Maintain and update technical records and enquiries log in the company's system/database, ensuring all documentation is current, accurate, and compliant with relevant standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Participate in customer meetings, product presentations, and technical workshops as required.

Market Research

: Stay updated on industry trends, new ingredients, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in product development.

Troubleshooting:

Address technical issues related to formulation, production, or product performance, providing timely and effective solutions.

Requirements



Education:



Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience & Knowledge:



2-5 years of experience in product development (nutraceuticals, food, or pharmaceuticals). Understanding of formulation science for capsules and tablets is a plus. Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP).

Skills:



Problem-solving and critical thinking. Organisational and project management abilities. Clear communication and collaboration skills.
