Technical Operations Field Engineer

Location: London (Greater London + occasional travel beyond)

Hours: 11am - 7pm, Monday-Friday (with occasional flexibility for urgent call-outs)

Salary: 35,000 - 42,000 per annum (DOE) + expenses & tools provided

We're scaling fast, and we're looking for a hands-on problem solver who's as comfortable fixing hardware as they are zipping across London on a cargo bike.

The Role

We're looking for a Technical Operations Field Engineer to be the go-to troubleshooter for our charging stations. You'll be in the field every day -- diagnosing and fixing hardware issues, ensuring our stations stay online, and helping us deliver industry-leading uptime.

This is a mid-level role: we'll train you on the specifics of our kit, but we need someone naturally comfortable with technology, practical problem-solving, and managing their own time.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on ChargedUp stations across Greater London (and occasionally beyond).

Travel by cargo bike for daily London work; use a company car or your own for longer trips when required.

Manage site access permits and liaise with venues to ensure smooth operations.

Keep accurate records of work completed, issues found, and solutions implemented.

Work independently, prioritising your own schedule to maximise station uptime.

Identify recurring technical issues and collaborate with the team to improve long-term reliability.

Support installation of new stations where required.

About You

Comfortable with hardware and tech -- whether from a formal background (engineering, IT, electronics) or hands-on tinkering.

Strong problem-solving mindset: you like figuring things out and making them work.

Good with time management -- you'll often be working independently.

Physically fit enough to ride a cargo bike around London daily.

Hold a UK driving licence (essential).

Confident completing site access permits/admin tasks.

Flexible: happy to occasionally work outside the standard 11-7 window if urgent fixes are needed.

Motivated by growth: a successful candidate has the opportunity to step up into a Head Engineer role.
