Job Description

We're expanding our Operations team and looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Technical Operations Technician. This is an early career role where you will learn on the job, travel to customer sites (UK & overseas), support de-installs and deployments, and contribute to warehouse, testing and data integrity work that keeps our projects running smoothly. Ideal for someone with a practical technical hobby (PC building, gaming rigs, tinkering)

or

early experience in 1st/2nd line IT support who wants a broader, more physical and customer-facing role.

Key Responsibilities:



Field / Onsite Projects



Support de-commissioning, removal, packing and transport of IT equipment from client locations (UK & international travel required). Assist with onsite relocation / installation projects under guidance from senior technicians. Represent RTK professionally while on customer sites; follow all site H&S, security and access rules.

Warehouse & Asset Processing



Receive, clean, grade and prepare incoming IT assets for reuse, resale or environmentally responsible recycling. Maintain orderly stock locations, packaging materials and general warehouse housekeeping standards. Pick, pack and dispatch outbound IT hardware and spare parts. Carry out secure data destruction processes in line with RTK standards & chain-of-custody controls.

Technical Testing & Refurbishment



Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on laptops, desktops and related peripherals (escalate complex faults). Record diagnostic findings and update asset condition in relevant systems. Support refurbishment / imaging / configuration workstreams as skills develop. Assist with part harvesting and component reuse where commercially viable.

Systems, Data & Commercial Support



Keep asset management, project tracking and client order systems current and accurate. Generate simple inventory / movement / reconciliation reports as needed. Create or update product listings for resale channels

Customer & Internal Communication



Provide timely feedback on project risks, delays or quality issues to the Technical Operations Lead. Capture customer feedback / site observations to help continuous improvement.

Essential



Genuine technical interest: builds own PCs, gaming hardware enthusiast, tinkers with tech, or has early IT support exposure (1st/2nd line, repair bench, MSP, etc.). Willing and able to travel internationally; holds a valid passport and meets client site access requirements. Physically capable of manual handling (moving, lifting, palletising IT kit - training provided). Logical thinker; methodical approach to troubleshooting and following process. Enthusiastic learner with a positive, "pitch-in" mindset. Strong communicator; confident and professional on the phone and face-to-face. Good personal presentation and customer etiquette. High attention to detail and pride in quality of work. Reliable timekeeping, organisation and follow-through.

Desirable



Full UK driving licence; comfortable driving / loading a Luton or Transit-size van. Experience with Excel (or Google Sheets) for stock / asset updates and basic reporting.

Pay: 25,000.00-27,000.00 per year
