The Pre-Sales Manager is responsible for providing expert technical input, solution design, and bid support across the company's telecoms and digital infrastructure portfolio. Operating as a subject matter expert, the role supports the sales and commercial teams in translating customer requirements into deliverable, costed, and compelling solutions, in alignment with company strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Development & Bid Support
Support the development of technical solutions across fixed-line, wireless, subsea, and data centre infrastructure projects.
Lead the creation of technical input for bids, RFPs, proposals, and commercial models, ensuring solutions are viable, scalable, and cost-effective.
Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and operations teams to validate and refine solution components.
Customer & Sales Engagement
Work directly with the Sales and Commercial teams to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and workshops to represent technical solutions and delivery capability.
Act as a trusted advisor during the pre-sales process, balancing customer requirements with commercial and delivery constraints.
Design & Delivery Alignment
Ensure proposed solutions align with internal capabilities and delivery frameworks.
Liaise with internal subject matter experts and delivery leads to obtain accurate input for costing, timelines, and resourcing.
Translate customer and commercial requirements into clear internal design briefs and handover documentation as part of transition from Sales to Operations.
Create supporting resourcing model to maximise efficiency and gross margin.
Commercial & Strategic Support
Contribute to strategic account planning and the development of standardised solution templates and design approaches.
Maintain knowledge of market trends, technology developments, and competitor offerings within telecoms infrastructure.
About You
Proven experience in a Pre-Sales, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consultant role, ideally within telecoms or digital infrastructure. Strong technical knowledge across one or more of the following areas: fibre networks, wireless, data centres, or subsea infrastructure.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated experience producing high-quality documentation, proposals, and technical responses.
Commercially aware, with a good understanding of cost modelling, delivery risk, and contractual frameworks.
Collaborative, adaptable, and delivery-focused mindset.
