BBC Media Operations is at the heart of delivering incredible content across all our platforms for all audiences. Comprising around nine hundred people, it manages the craft and production operations for the BBC's news, radio, and some sport services across London, Salford, Birmingham with teams across the main UK sites.
Our team captures, edits, and produces output 24/7 for TV, radio, and digital platforms. We are experts in our field, with exceptional technical, operational, and production creativity at our core. Working closely with our editorial colleagues, we co-create content that reaches millions of people across the UK and the world daily. The team also manages production services, editing and post-production, stores, some OB bases in England, and the BBC's fleet of pool and broadcast vehicles.

Main responsibilities
-------------------------
The Speech team within Media Operations (Sound) supports a wide range of speech-based audio content, both live and pre-recorded. This includes factual and arts programming, audio drama and longform current affairs output. You will be a key member of this close-knit specialist team working in NBH and occasionally on location, using your sound design flair, knowledge of visualisation techniques and well developed operational skills to ensure that we maintain technical excellence in all we do.
As a Technical Producer in Sound, you will need to work closely with technical colleagues, production teams and editorial leads, and support and guide less experienced colleagues in order that they can further develop their skills.
Are you the right candidate

We are looking for a Technical Producer who is self-motivated and constantly seeking to expand their knowledge and skills. You will have a passion for audio drama, but also be able to apply your sound design and broadcast skills to all other areas of our work too. You should be happy leading small teams on productions, and confident in offering innovative solutions to a wide range of production stakeholders in support of their editorial ambitions. Being a good team player is also essential to ensure that we deliver the ambitions of Media Operations and our production partners.
What we are looking for:
Extensive operational audio experience across multiple genres in a studio environment
Experience of working on drama productions in a broadcast or theatre setting
Experience of advanced sound design using craft audio editing software
Awareness of technical advances in audio and visualised content
Competent use of BBC audio scheduling, edit and playout software such as dira!, alongside well developed knowledge of common PC tools and cloud-based sharing platforms
