Technical Product Engineer

Monday- Thursday 08:30am-17:00pm, Fridays 08:30am- 15:30pm

40,000-50,000 (depending on experience)

Purpose

As Technical Product Engineer, the role is to ensure that products meet consistent standards and comply with both internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. Undertake the responsibility for all product introduction programs, including testing & validation. As well as maintaining strong supplier relations, the Technical Product Engineer will be a central point of contact providing technical support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

oLiaise with suppliers to ensure agreed quality requirements are met

oProvide technical support for customers including site visits as required

oSupport SQA with improving supplier performance

oSupport new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards

oEnsure the product approval process remains in line with the business requirements of range and cost

oImprove quality of purchased parts through liaison with Product Management and Purchasing

oRoot cause analysis, investigating quality issues or customer complains, implementing corrective and preventative actions

oRaising product specification issues/claims with suppliers and holding them responsible where appropriate

oProvide product assurance through the GRN inspection process

oMaintenance of product sampling and gauge calibration program

oResponsible for quarantine inventory

oManagement of internal quality KPIs and metrics

oTo take a continuous improvement focus and prevent problems before they arise

Skills and Profile Required

oPrevious experience in a similar role within the construction or fastener industry (essential)

oAbility to analyse problems, create resolutions and drive quality improvements

oAbility to understand and interpret 2D manufacturing drawings (essential)

oAbility to use measuring equipment such as vernier calipers and shadowgraph (essential)

oExcellent communication skills both written and verbal

oAbility to work autonomously on projects and keep others informed when needed

oKnowledge of quality systems such as ISO9001 (desirable)

oProficient in the use of MS Office

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-50,000.00 per year
