Technical Manager / Technical Product Manager - Renewables (Sync Energy)

Location:

Telford / Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in Telford office)

Hours:

Full-time, Permanent, 39 hours per week

Schedule:

Mon-Thurs: 8.30am-5.00pm, Fri: 8.30am-4.00pm

Salary:

Competitive + 20% bonus

The Role

As a Technical Manager / Technical Product Manager, you will:

Oversee the technical development and management of our renewable energy products. Work closely with engineering teams to manage product specifications. Ensure our solutions meet both market and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Outline and manage firmware and product specifications. Assist in designing app UI and features to meet customer expectations. Collaborate with installation, training, and support teams on new product requirements and launches. Translate market requirements into engineering specifications and product requirements documents (PRDs). Work with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers on product design, testing, and certification. Manage back office and third-party software vendors for integration, support, and customer offerings. Support the Business Development Manager team with requirements for commercial offerings, support, and product marketing. Manage the renewable product range and future development projects.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

Experience in renewable energy (HEMS/Battery/Solar) or EV charging. An engineering background. Knowledge of app/software development processes. Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams (electrical, mechanical, firmware). Familiarity with software and app development, including UI/UX principles. Experience working with third-party vendors and managing integrations. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment. Experience managing technical product development in the renewables or EV charging sector. Proven ability to translate market requirements into technical specifications and PRDs.

Bonus points for:

Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
