Technical Operator
this is a shift work role so will have day shifts and night shifts on a rota basis. We are true believers in a work life balance so the shifts are prepared in an employees benefit prospective.
Day shifts are 7am to 7pm and night shifts are 7pm to 7am.

Reporting to the Reliability and Facilities Manager, the Technical Operator is expected to demonstrate leadership and drive within the operational cell team and will take ownership to ensure the effective running of the production lines and carry out operational and technical problem solving in the event of line performance issues. The Technical Operator will also be the site duty manager when required.
Main Responsibilities include:
Operate production lines and ensure issues affecting KPIs are addressed and escalated in an appropriate manner.
Carrying out mechanical maintenance and repair tasks to production line machinery.
Following work-instructions to carry out basic electrical tasks on equipment such as safe isolation, prescribed like-for-like component change, safe shutdown and start up of equipment.
Maintain own training plan to ensure knowledge is always up to date.
Proactively developing technical abilities under the mentorship of senior technical staff on shift/days
Using IT systems to ensure accurate records are kept of all operational issues and technical work carried out on the equipment.
Monitor adherence to standards and ensure effective communication is maintained with the Area Manager.
Work with senior technical staff to root cause longer term issues impacting line efficiency.
Communication & liaison with other stakeholders of issues which will impact performance and amend plans accordingly
Ownership of personal development & training needs
Act as site Duty Manager when required.
The Technical operator is expected to take ownership of the performance of the shift and display leadership to solve problems affecting production, primarily:
Short and Long term Quality issue resolution
Carrying out basic repair work to plant equipment.
Regularly performing operational roles within a cell team
Communication and effective handover of daily reliability escalations
Education and qualifications:
Good educational standard with clear ability to understand and adhere to Standard operating procedures within a factory environment
Ability to apply knowledge and skills in a manufacturing environment
High degree of numeracy and literacy
Good level of manual dexterity and demonstrable ability to carry out practical mechanical tasks
Experience:
Experience within a factory and manufacturing environment is ESSENTIAL
Good planning and organization skills.

Time management and interpersonal skillS
Proficient in current computer programs and database
Competent in manual handling with good basic manual dexterity
Ability to apply knowledge and skills in a manufacturing environment.

Basic mechanical experience/ability
Basic understanding of electrical safety (training will be given)
All applicant's must be UK based due to the interview process, please also note this role does have both a night and day shift both of which will have to be worked. The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK as we are not able to provide sponsorship. Full back ground checks will be completed which may include a DBS check
