Job Summary

Novocomms Limited ("NVC") - Birmingham, UK



NVC is looking for Full-Time Experienced Technical Program Manager (Ref.: TPM202501

) to lead multiple R&D and customer-facing programmes from concept to production. You will coordinate cross-disciplinary engineering teams, manage external partners, prepare winning grant proposals and create customer technical specifications that support the sales process. A solid grasp of RF/telecoms systems and first-class project-management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Program Management



Build and own integrated project plans, budgets and risk registers for several concurrent hardware-centric programmes.

Drive execution to meet TRL/MRL, cost and schedule targets; report progress to executives and funding bodies.

Use Agile or Stage-Gate practices via Jira, MS Project, Confluence or equivalent.

Grant & Bid Management



Lead preparation of Innovate UK, ESA, UKSA and other public-funding proposals, including work-packages, Gantt charts, TRL justification and exploitation plans.

Coordinate technical writing and cost narratives; track deliverables and compliance once projects are awarded.

Technical Specification & Sales Support



Translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications and statements of work for antenna, RF and system teams.

Support business-development and sales colleagues during RFQ/RFP responses and technical workshops.

Team & Stakeholder Coordination



Align RF, antenna, hardware, firmware, test and supply-chain teams; remove blockers and facilitate design reviews.

Serve as primary technical interface to customers, subcontractors and governmental stakeholders, ensuring requirements are met and issues resolved promptly.

Documentation & Compliance



Maintain project dashboards, BoMs, LCA inputs and certification plans (CE, FCC, GCF, PTCRB).

Ensure projects embed cyber-security best practice and, where relevant, quantum-safe readiness.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

BEng/MSc (or higher) in Electrical, RF, Telecommunications, Aerospace or related discipline.

5 + years

managing complex hardware/RF or telecoms development projects to production.

Strong understanding of wireless system architecture, antenna/RF design and communication networks.

Proven track record writing successful

Innovate UK, ESA or UKSA

bids or similar grant/funding proposals.

Fluent in creating customer-facing technical specifications, test plans and compliance documents.

Excellent leadership, risk-management and stakeholder-communication skills.

Desirable



Experience with phased-array antennas, mmWave, satellite terminals or defence comms.

PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certification.

Familiarity with defence standards and security accreditation processes;

candidates with previous military service or MOD/defence-industry experience are strongly encouraged to apply.



Working knowledge of life-cycle assessment and Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design principles

Package:

Between 45,000 to 80,000 in salary depends on experience + benefits package (pension, bonus and share option scheme).
