This is a temporary position.

Role Overview



You'll provide quality assurance, inspection, and vessel survey support to the project team. From reviewing documentation to approving subcontractor works, your expertise will help deliver projects that enhance fleet performance and reliability.

Your tasks will include:



Conducting site and vessel surveys Inspecting and approving subcontractor works Gathering data and producing accurate reports Maintaining inspection and approval documentation

What You'll Do

Project Quality Responsibilities:



Support the team in delivering projects to the highest standards Maintain inspection, quality, and approval documentation Attend vessel/site visits for inspections and quality checks Participate in FAT/HAT/SATs and manage punch lists Provide accurate status updates and reports Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement

General Responsibilities:



Champion process improvements and share best practices Represent CalMac Ferries Ltd as a trusted and professional ambassador Stay calm under pressure and think on your feet Carry out any other duties as required by the Senior Projects Manager

What We're Looking For

Essential:



ONC/HNC qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) Experience in quality engineering or similar, including inspections and testing Knowledge of marine standards (e.g., Lloyd's Register rules) Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and outfitting aspects of vessels Ability to read technical drawings and documentation Strong communication and relationship-building skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desirable:



Experience in commercial ship operations or a seagoing background Familiarity with quality management systems and processes
