Alton Valley is looking for an experienced and proactive

Technical Project Support

to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical support and project execution, ensuring the successful implementation and maintenance of IT solutions. You will be responsible for supporting complex technical projects, coordinating with internal teams and clients, and ensuring the smooth delivery of IT services. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise and a keen eye for project coordination, seeking to advance beyond traditional support roles.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Support technical project planning and execution, assisting with system implementations and upgrades. Provide advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution for Linux and Windows environments. Assist in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining IT infrastructure, including networking and security components. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure technical project requirements are met. Document technical processes, configurations, and best practices for internal and external stakeholders. Perform system administration tasks, including user management and security configuration. Support technical documentation and knowledge sharing across teams. Identify opportunities for service improvement and contribute to technical innovation. Assist in technical training and mentoring of junior support engineers. Participate in an on-call rota to provide 24/7 support, responding to critical issues and ensuring service continuity.

ABOUT YOU



Essential:



3+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar technical role. Proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments. Strong networking and database administration skills. Familiarity with IT security principles and best practices. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Comfortable with on-call support and responding to incidents outside of standard working hours. Willing and eligible to achieve a minimum of SC clearance due to the secure nature of this position. Desirable:



Experience with containerisation tools such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). O365 administration, including Intune and SharePoint. Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). Experience in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell). Exposure to ITIL best practices and service management frameworks.
