Creative Spark is a small family run business based on the outskirts of Horsham. We started providing specialist technical services after many years of working in the theatre and events industry and believe that great quality customer service is key to every project. Our warehouse is based in Plummers Plain but we provide services across the country. We have been successfully running our business since 2015, starting with technical services for events and expanding to also provide installations and technical support for events venues, gaining NICEIC accreditation in 2013. We continue to grow as we strive to bring something new and different to the market place.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company with lots of potential for progression. The Technical Projects Assistant will be a key team member in both our Venue Support and Events departments. They will support all servicing, installation, and event projects both at the warehouse and on-site.
Reports To
The Technical Projects Assistant will report to the company directors.
Responsibilities and Duties
Events, Service & Installation
To assist with installation and removal of temporary lighting, sound, video, rigging and staging for events
To assist with permanent installation of technical equipment and electrics
Assist with service and maintenance on-site (LOLER, PAT, EICR)
Assist with equipment sub-hire enquiries and quotations
Liaise with clients in a professional manner to provide the best service possible
Warehouse
Be responsible for maintaining an organised and tidy warehouse/workshop
Operate rental software to manage equipment, including adding new equipment and stock
Selecting, preparing and returning appropriate equipment for hires, servicing, and installation projects
Cleaning, testing and maintenance of equipment
Basic repairs of equipment including making cables and changing plugs
Completing pre-fabrication for projects
General Responsibilities and Duties
Delivery and collection of equipment
Being knowledgeable about the services offered by Creative Spark Services Ltd
Maintaining a positive attitude that inspires co-workers and clients to grow the business

Skills and Qualifications
Essential
Educated to a minimum of GCSE grade C/4 in maths and English
PC Literate
Full UK Driving License (due to the rural location of our offices you will also need your own transport)
Basic electrical knowledge (i.e. How to wire a plug)
Previous experience working in a theatrical environment
Experience setting up lighting systems including intelligent fixtures
Experience setting up and operating sound systems including playback and microphones
Desirable
Have an interest in electrics
PASMA Qualification (this will be provided if not currently held)
IPAF Qualification (this will be provided if not currently held)
Have experience of electrical inspections and testing (EICR, PAT etc)
Hours of Work
Standard working hours will be Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. The nature of the role will require some working at evenings and weekends along with work away from home. (Time off in lieu will be offered.)
