Technical Sales Engineer
to support and grow sales across our acoustic consultancy services, testing and design solutions, and specialist product range.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys blending technical knowledge with commercial thinking, working closely with clients, and developing long-term relationships in a specialist engineering field.
What You'll Be Doing
As a key part of our sales and technical team, you'll act as the first point of contact for incoming enquiries, helping clients find the right acoustic solutions for their projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Technical Sales & Client Support
Acting as the first point of contact for inbound technical sales enquiries, responding promptly and professionally
Understanding client requirements through discussion and needs analysis, then recommending appropriate services and products
Providing technical guidance throughout the sales process, including advice on acoustic performance, testing methods, and design solutions
Quotations, Specifications & Proposals
Preparing accurate and technically robust quotations for acoustic products, consultancy services, and testing or design work
Producing high-quality proposals and tender submissions that clearly outline scope, value, and technical compliance
Working closely with internal technical and design teams to ensure proposals are feasible, well-costed, and technically sound
Business Development & Growth
Supporting business development activities through follow-up of inbound leads and engagement with prospective clients
Identifying new opportunities within existing accounts and across key target sectors
Collaborating with marketing and senior team members to support sales strategy and pipeline growth
Account Management & Team Support
Building and maintaining strong client relationships based on trust, responsiveness, and technical credibility
Acting as a trusted advisor, clearly explaining the benefits of proposed acoustic solutions
Providing cover for other sales team members during periods of annual leave to ensure continuity of service
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone enthusiastic, organised, and eager to grow both technically and commercially.
Qualifications & Technical Background
Degree (or equivalent) in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, Building Services, or a related discipline (preferred)* A good understanding of acoustic principles and their real-world application (preferred)* Familiarity with acoustic products such as sound absorption panels, barriers, and finishes (preferred)*
Sales & Commercial Skills
Experience in a technical sales, sales engineering, or client-facing consultancy role within acoustics, construction, or engineering
Confidence preparing quotations and developing technically and commercially sound proposals
Good commercial awareness, including pricing and margin considerations
Communication & Organisation
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Professional, responsive approach to client and account management
Well organised and detail-focused, with confidence using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
