Summary



We have a great opportunity within the Business for someone keen to grow their career as an Technical Sales Engineer. This role is ideal for anyone with a practical background in manufacturing, production, sales, or engineering, or for those earlier in their career who want to build their skills in a more commercial, customer-focused environment.

Within this role, you'll work closely with our Sales, Engineering, and Production teams to generate the quotes and proposals we send to our customers. You'll be an important link between the workshop and the customer, helping to turn customer requests in to competitive quotations. It's a role where you'll learn a lot, contribute directly to winning work and growing the business, and help us deliver great value to our customers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities



Work with the Sales team to prepare accurate cost estimates in response to customer enquiries

Talk directly with customers when needed to clarify requirements and build strong working relationships

Review material needs, subcontractor costs, and lead times to make sure proposals are competitive and realistic

Create and update simple bills of materials to support quotations

Spot opportunities to reduce costs, improve how we work, or simplify our processes

Support wider improvement projects, using your practical experience to help make things run smoother across the business

Experience



Process costing experience is helpful but not a requirement, full training and support can be provided

Experience in a manufacturing or production environment beneficial (hands-on or office-based)

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and basic technical information

Good awareness of common manufacturing processes

Skills & Attributes



Enjoys problem-solving and working through practical challenges

Good communication skills

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Flexible, proactive, and keen to learn and develop

Enjoys working as part of a team and building positive relationships

Qualifications



Relevant qualification (engineering/manufacturing) is welcome, but experience and enthusiasm are just as valuable
