Technical Service Engineer

Main Duties and Role Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Troubleshooting and attending
to electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
Advising the help desk
on breakdown issues and offering technical support.
Communicating and liaising with the business to support all products and services.
Being available to attend
site visits across the UK at short notice
, providing quick solutions to customers and the business.
Demonstrating and understanding
the functionality of CNC equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Perform
preventative maintenance
and identify potential system failures before they happen.
Install and commission capital equipment
, preferably CNC machines.
Handle both
electrical and mechanical breakdowns
, providing clear solutions and detailed advice.
Training customers
on CNC equipment and ensuring they understand how to use it effectively.
Service and repair work
, troubleshooting in real-time.
Understand and interpret
mechanical and electrical drawings
for accurate problem-solving.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting
during service interventions.
Possess strong knowledge of
PLC and CNC
systems, including
Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain
controls.
Skills and Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
in a Service Engineering role, ideally within CNC machinery and equipment.
Strong
CNC machining
background with experience in troubleshooting and servicing.
Proficient in
PLC systems
and controls, with hands-on experience in
Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain
CNC controls.
Excellent understanding of
electrical and mechanical breakdowns
, with the ability to advise on necessary remedial action.
Ability to prioritise your workload
and work independently, especially under time-sensitive conditions.
Strong organisational skills
and an aptitude for customer care, keeping customers informed at all stages.
Excellent communication
skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt your style based on the audience.
Problem-solving abilities
and the ability to resolve technical issues in high-pressure situations.
