As a Technical Solutions Lead, you will be responsible for producing solutions to help to drive performance improvement and change activity within the Wastewater directorate. In this role you will be investigating processes and ideas, analysing corporate data, identifying root causes, and finding viable answers to current industry issues.
As part of the Operational Planning & Improvement Team, you will have the scope and opportunity to innovate, review new technology, create greater efficiencies in existing processes and see the improvements first-hand.
You will be utilising your analytical skills, technical expertise, and knowledge to facilitate change initiatives and strategies driven by data and insight, whilst ensuring decisions are aligned to the organisation's business goals.
Collaborating with stakeholders across all levels of the business, this can include researching and interpreting data, coordinating audits of operational sites, mapping and reviewing processes and systems to identify inefficiencies, and supporting with the implementation of solutions.
Your core responsibilities will be:
Gathering and analysing data and insight from within the business to provide clear, evidenced and statistically driven reports and strategic recommendations.
Managing solution development projects with cross-functional teams, diagnosing the root cause of issues, and developing solutions for problems, including mapping and identification of inefficient business processes

Providing plans and procedures for site operations, efficiency initiatives, compliance / pollution improvement, ensuring provision of management, KPIs and governance/assurance.
Dealing with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to understand current and future needs.
Facilitating engagement across operational teams through meetings, hubs, performance-specific sessions, workshops, and training.

With the opportunity to provide strategic insight and steer to the business, you will be involved in various aspects of Wastewater Operations, from Treatment works compliance initiatives to significant programmes of work such as our Pollution Incident Reduction Plan.

You need not have a background in Water or Wastewater. We would welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.
This role has a focus on critical thinking, analytical insight, technical problem solving, identifying the heart of the issue, and finding tangible solutions to issues.
Proficiency in analysing and presenting data (Microsoft Excel or other) is desirable, and if you have previous Project, Programme, or Change Management experience then we would love to hear from you.
