We seek an ambitious, experienced and self-motivated individual with experience in multi-omics bioinformatics analysis, to join the Advanced Bioinformatics and Computation (ABC) group. The ABC group is responsible for integrative 'omics analysis, including data from high-throughput sequencing experiments (incl. RNA-Seq, DNA-seq, ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq) and from single-cell and spatial omics experiments. The successful applicant will interact with academic researchers and the Faculty's Technology Platforms, which offer researchers access to and training in the use of cutting-edge technologies including bioimaging, electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, genomic and transgenic technologies.
The post-holder will develop tools and workflows, contribute to experimental design prior to data collection and will contribute to writing up work for journal papers and presentations. There will also be opportunities to contribute to training and educational activities, e.g. through attendance at courses, workshops and conferences.
The successful applicant will have a qualification in a science or related subject area e.g. PhD, degree, HND; or extensive work experience in a relevant technical and/or scientific role and must have good working knowledge of high-throughput sequencing data analysis methods. Experience of programming in a language relevant for Bioinformatics is essential (e.g. R, Python, C/C++ or Java) as are good communication skills.
