An opportunity has arisen for a
Technical Specialist - Cloud Application
Engineering
to join the
Elysia
department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
At Elysia, we are at the forefront of revolutionising the life, safety, and performance of battery systems, across markets and industries. As a pioneering technology company, we specialise in the development of cutting-edge software solutions that supports, optimises and de-risks the deployment of batteries, from cradle to grave, starting with design and manufacture, through to first-life monitoring and the transition to second-life or recycling.
About the Role
------------------
You will act as a technical contact on customer facing projects, translate requirements and provide technical support. By integrating and customizing the existing codebase into customer specific orchestration frameworks, they will build and parameterize automated customer pipelines for battery analytics.
The output of these pipelines should be business relevant, actionable battery insights obtained using an understanding of both battery electrochemistry and systems integration.
Once results are produced, you must be able to understand the validity of these results and have the understanding to identify anomalous results. You will be required to line manage more junior members of the team and lead technical delivery of select customer projects.
You will collaborate with the broader cloud team in the development of the Elysia Battery Intelligence Cloud Platform. This collaboration should facilitate the generalization of customer specific algorithms into customer agnostic algorithms that can produce actionable insights into the performance, safety, and reliability of a diverse range of batteries
What you will do
--------------------
You will be delivery-focused with a pragmatic, product-oriented approach to development. You will need to be adaptable and able to pivot with changing customer demands. You will be able to manage more junior members of the team and be able to direct their learning and professional growth.
Technical delivery of Elysia battery analytics to customers:
Implementing and adapting Elysia cloud battery algorithms to evaluate performance, lifetime and safety of batteries in live operating environments
Understand customer requirements and translate into technical solutions
Perform initial evaluations of datasets to determine potential solutions to customer challenges.
Ensure validity of outputs in automated environment
Identify anomalous results in large datasets.
Support customers to interpret the results of Elysia's products
Understanding the limitations of technical implementations
Co-ordinate both internal and external stakeholders during technical delivery
Lead technical delivery of select customer projects
Ensure development is implemented with Elysia's wider Cloud product in mind.
About You
-------------
Essential:
5+ years' experience in data science/data engineering
Masters level qualification in a STEM subject
Strong experience with Python and its wider numerical & scientific ecosystem (e.g. numpy, scipy, pandas / polars)
Experience in the battery domain (e.g. electrothermal battery modelling, battery state estimation & diagnostics)
Experience in the automotive and/or BESS sectors.
Experience co-ordinating both internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in version control and CI/CD frameworks (e.g. Github, Gitlab, Azure DevOps etc.)
Knowledge of cloud services, such as AWS and Azure.
Ability to work largely independently.
Ability to prioritise tasks to ensure timely customer delivery.
Experience working with large datasets.
Experience in supervisory or line management positions.
Ability to discuss technical topics with non-technical customer representatives.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt with changing customer demands.
Beneficial:
Understanding of physics-based battery models (e.g. DFN, SPM etc.)
Familiarity with data pipelines and database management.
Experience with orchestration and automation frameworks.
PhD in a STEM subject
Experience with MATLAB
Diversity & Inclusion:
