The experienced and motivated technician will join FibroFind Ltd as a technical specialist.

Key Accountabilities
To deliver high quality bespoke research for clients guided by a blinded proposal
Capable of working as part of a team and with flexibility to meet deadlines on time
Work autonomously with the ability to trouble shoot experiments and experimental issues
To be responsible for day-to-day management of experimental work involving in vitro, biochemical and molecular approaches and be familiar with associated SOP's, health, and safety documents eg. COSHH
To be responsible for collection, processing, analysis, presentation (writing, graph production, image production) and storage of experimental data in accurate, secure, detailed and up-to-date records of all work carried out to GLP standard
To facilitate general management and running of the laboratory including routine laboratory cleaning, maintenance, equipment upkeep and ordering of laboratory materials
Handling and processing of human tissue including collection from the hospital.
Preparing sample keys and checking samples when shipping to clients.
To be responsible for the collection and preservation of samples at the end of the study.
To train new staff members in competent skills
Prepare Master sheets from proposals including treatment sheets
Liaise and work with senior management to identify issues and ensure project delivery to GLP standards
The Person (Essential)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience/Awareness of laboratory Health and Safety issues
An in depth understanding of cell and molecular biology
Knowledge of liver, lung and kidney fibrosis is highly desirable
Good teamwork, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Good computer skills, with the ability to graph and statistically analyse data
Proficient use of Prism highly desirable
Excellent record-keeping, time management and organisational skills
Ability to optimise and apply new methods to advance the project
Tissue culture of cell lines, primary cells including tissue explants
RNA extraction from cells and tissue; quantitative PCR (SybrGreen and molecular probe based)
ELISA
Immunohistochemical and basic staining
Protein isolation
Demonstrable lab experience in a similar environment
Methodical approach to analysing data sets
Willingness to work outside normal hours when necessary
Hep-B vaccinated (desired)

BSc degree in related area
MSc in relevant field (desirable)
