Clayton Engineering Limited specialise in the design and manufacture of launch and recovery equipment for lifeboats. As part of the RNLI, we support them to save lives at sea by manufacturing high quality equipment and sustaining its life in service. Our vehicles are often featured on the BBC TV Program 'Saving Lives at Sea' and can be seen at many of the RNLI Boathouses across the country. The company has a site based in Knighton in Mid Wales on the Powys / Shropshire / Herefordshire border. Easily commutable from Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Leominster or Hereford. LD1, LD7, LD8, SY7, SY8, SY9, HR5, HR6

We are currently looking for Technical Supply Chain Manager to provide technical, strategic and daily leadership of the Supply Chain department by leading, developing and executing the sourcing strategy.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Direction and Leadership

Deliver commercially successful outcomes by creating and developing long term category and subcategory strategies that meet the needs of CEL's customers today and far into the future. Create and implement a supply chain strategy to reduce cost, risk and improve quality and service standards. Support the organisation in providing and delivering the vision and strategic direction for the facility. Provide leadership through motivating and communicating with team members to ensure they achieve their best performance. Support the organisation to define and implement a continuous improvement strategy, promoting a CI culture across all staff.
Supply Chain Management

Provide daily management and leadership of the Supply Chain team. Ensure that targets and expectations are clear and stretch targets and objectives are implemented. Nurture an environment whereby employees are engaged, committed, motivated and working effectively together and with other relevant cross functional team members. Responsible for ensuring goods and services are delivered on time and in a safe, effective and efficient way. Provide Technical Engineering support and guidance to address technical queries within the supply chain function Accountable for the Supply Chain and Procurement processes and all related documentation. Lead supply chain projects and deliver clear plans to ensure financial targets and future goals are met. Analyse and interpret trends and system data as well as conflicting organisational requirements to influence and manage stakeholders through the effective
The ideal candidate would welcome responsibility and work well under pressure. Someone who is technical proficient with a good engineering foundation knowledge and excellent people skills, and who has demonstratable management experience at a senior level.
