Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Solutions Engineer with a particular focus on infrastructure management to join our growing team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and support, particularly with a Managed Service Provider. The role will primarily involve providing advanced 3rd-line support and contributing to various client-facing projects. You will be expected to troubleshoot, resolve technical issues, and act as an escalation point for more junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

Provide senior technical support and troubleshooting for clients, both remotely and on-site. Assist in server configuration, installation, and management, including virtual environments using Hyper-V. Support enterprise-level backup solutions, particularly Veeam, and ensure timely backups and data recovery. Manage client networks, ensuring proper configurations for wired and wireless networks including surveys and audits. Lead the implementation of cloud-based services such as Microsoft 365, Mimecast, Google Apps, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Teams. Act as a point of escalation for 1st and 2nd-line support engineers and collaborate with senior engineers. Work on various IT projects such as infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and server virtualisation. Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of detailed technical documentation. Maintain a high standard of customer service, managing client expectations, and resolving issues effectively.
Technical Skills:

Strong experience with Windows Server management, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and WDS. Hands-on experience with server virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V). Expertise in Veeam Backup & Replication, with a strong focus on data protection and disaster recovery. Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols). Cloud storage solutions: Experience with Lucidlink and Egnyte for managing remote file storage. Proficient in Microsoft Intune for MDM and MAM administration. Experience with MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) for OS imaging and deployments. Familiarity with security solutions such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Sophos, or Bitdefender.
