About the Role
We are seeking a technically minded, customer-focused individual to join our team as a
Technical Support & EPOS Installation Technician
. You will be
fully trained
to install and configure
EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale)
systems at customer sites across
Sussex
, as well as providing ongoing
remote technical support
.
This role is ideal for someone with strong IT aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a passion for helping businesses leverage technology. You'll work closely with our support and development teams to ensure customers receive excellent service from installation to ongoing usage.
Key Responsibilities
On-site installation and configuration of EPOS systems for new and existing business clients
Providing remote support via phone, email, and remote desktop tools for troubleshooting and training
Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues related to EPOS systems
Maintaining accurate records of support requests, system configurations, and client interactions
Participating in an
emergency out-of-hours phone support rota
Liaising with software developers and internal teams to escalate complex issues
Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and professionalism during every client interaction
Required Skills & Experience
Good technical understanding of computers, networks, and common operating systems
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and procedures
Full
UK driving licence
and access to a
reliable vehicle
Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
Desirable (But Not Essential)
Previous experience supporting or installing
EPOS systems
Basic
software development
or scripting experience (e.g. Python, SQL, or web technologies)
Familiarity with networking concepts (e.g. IP addressing, routers, firewalls)
Experience supporting businesses in retail or hospitality environments
